nope. you're probably doing it wrong. I'm not sure you're understanding
the relationship of song files, databases that organize these files
(like itunes, winamp, LMS, etc.) and how different things access these
files.  You don't download the amazon mp3 directly to the ipad.  You buy
it from amazon, save it to a computer harddrive. then you locate it
(move it) to the music library that ITUNES reads, then you sync your
ipad with the itunes on your computer then the songs will be in itunes
on your ipad. 

p.s. I have thousands of mp3 files that are not from itunes (and some
are from amazon) and they all work perfectly well on my ipad and
iphones.
