The plugin won't do anything over optical that the optical can't do without the plugin. A look at the D100 owner's manual makes mention of drivers for both Windoze machines and Mac, so the Touch is unlikely to natively see the D100, which is in turn likely to be causing your problem. Try connecting the Touch to the D100 using S/PDIF coax.
