This week has been a saga with my squeezebox devices. With the problems
I have had--if they are inherent in the squeezebox architecture--I see
why Logitech dropped the squeezebox line.

To replace my classic 3, last October, I purchased a Touch with the goal
to eliminate the skipping of music I experienced about 5% of the time
while streaming FLAC files wireless from my computer. Also with the
built-in TinyLMS, I could listen to local music or internet without
turning on the computer. No more explaining to my wife how to switch
between internet and local music servers. YEAH!

Before transferring my 5000 tracks to a USB drive, I have been testing
it with a 8BG USB flash drive for the last month and a half. I have not
had any problems, until recently when it started to hang up and skip;
just like it would do when streaming WiFi.

Question 1: Why would this skipping while local playing be happening if
there is no need for wireless streaming?

My real saga of frustration occurred two days ago. In addition to the
Touch, I also purchased two Radios as they were on sale at a good price.
(Get them while they have them!) I have them connected to the Touch
(USB) so I can listen to local music or steam internet radio, Pandora.
For the last two months, I have had minimal problems. Several times the
USB LMS would shut down and I would restart it, but that has not
happened for about a month. Then two days ago, I cannot get internet
radio on one of the Radios. Teh Radio says the Touch (USB) is
unavailable. I go to the Touch and with some difficultly, I get LMS on
the Touch (USB) restarted. I now try to play local music on the Touch
and NOTHING, it will not play a track. None of the squeezeboxes will
play anything. I unplug them all, and plug them back in. When it
doubt, reboot. This does not solve the problem.

I should also note, that I was also having slow internet connection
problems and it would occasionally drop out and re-start. Thinking
there could be a problem with the wireless network, I restart my router
by turning it off and on. This does not solve the problem.
I sometimes sync the radios to each other, perhaps this is the problem.
I unsync all the devices. Turn them off and on again. This seems to
solve the problem.

Question 2: Could the intermittent internet or wireless network
problems be a source of any these problems?
