as garym says ,let the scan complete. If it will not complete ,or you still get problems even if it does complete - then unfortunately you will have to follow the instructions as set out in the linked thread to give yourself a better chance of playing tracks from your usb hard drive. There is no simple solution. There is no "setting" for USB which you need to make. The server will automatically detect the hard drive and start scanning (it does this every time you plug in the USB drive or power up the touch, which also annoys many ppl) The inbuilt server on the touch is frankly not up to the job and does not have the horsepower that running LMS on a pc will give you. With patience and hard work, you may get it to work well, but you have to have your files on the USB drive meticulously organised.
In the long run, it will probably be better for you to run LMS on a pc.
