Yeah that's the whole piont with squeezebox Eco system the
squeezebox(es) connects to your existing network and you can listen to
networked services radio or something on your local LMS server ( your
own files ) this server sorts of fits anywhere , you can run it on any
of your computers ( win ,mac , linux ) or a dedicated mini server or a
NAS .
The beauty of it is that the sound quality is independent on what ever
is going on in the server or network as long as it is good enough to
fill the player buffer , that's built in in the architecture .

Note that they multiply , once you used to be able to have your files at
your fingertips on the hifi you suddenly wants in the kitchen or patio
or basically everywhere .
