I have a TEAC UD-501 DAC that I can't get to play via USB. It is a high speed asynchronous DAC. The specs for the USB input says, "Type B connector x1 (USB 2.0 compliant)." LMS is set under file settings to native flac. The Touch recognizes the DAC and the DAC seems to recognize the Touch. Under "Select Audio Output" it says, "USB-Audio - TEAC UD-501 [Info]" and when I tap it, it says:
Status: Stop Speed: High Connection: Direct Type [1]: Asynchronous Format [1]: S32_LE Rates [1]: 44100, etc..... Type [2]: Async Format [2]: S32_LE Rates [2]: 44100, etc.... Based on what I've read here, this DAC should work with EDO via USB.
