I recently got a new DAC capable to process 24/192 PCM via SPDIF and USB. So I decided to install EDO plugin on my Touch. Installation was successful and I was able to play few 24/192 flac files in their native resolution. But then I tried to listen to BBC Radio 3 station. With stock firmware Touch outputs 24/96 bitstream via SPDIF when I open this station (this is only one Internet radio station that has this high resolution I know of). But to my surprise DAC reported receiving 16/32 stream. I restarted both Touch and DAC, but it still gave me that low resolution stream. As a test I deceided to remove EDO plugin and re-install stock firmware. After I did it, I again saw output 24/96 stream listening for BBC 3. So it looks like EDO breaks something inside Squeezebox firmwarfe that prevents it from playing high resolution Internet radio.
