I also like the idea of smartgain. For my music, most of the replaygain differences is also in the date of the recorded music, not in the style. "Older" music (80's) has no big negative gain, but actual music has up to -10db. Streaming content (for me only radio stations) is similar to actual music, but can't be adjusted by smartgain. I also supported the request to be able to enter a constant volume adjustment for all streaming content, but it never got implemented.
I keep using smartgain since I mostly listen only radio OR only local music.
