Computer? OS? How are you telling LMS where to scan the 5 drives? Shortcuts in a folder? Sure there is not a dead link to an unused drive or folder?
No scanning is required if you just use the My Music > Music Folder option. Scanning individual drives won't help in accessing the entire music collection, you'll just have to rescan all drives as one music collection again anyway.
