So I've been doing a LOT of reading and I want to be sure I understand how to do this before I jump in. I have a Squeezebox Touch with an externally powered Seagate Expansion 2 TB USB 3.0 Desktop External Hard Drive#STBV2000100. I have been using the Touch as a standalone music server and putting up with the instability for quite some time now. I have approx 39,000 FLAC files which is roughly equal to 3500 albums. This set up is on my desk at work and will NEVER be connected to a PC, network or the internet once configured & in use. I can bring it home for any maintenance or future updates that need to be done.
One of the questions I have is once I receive the Raspberry PI do I install SqueezePlug or the piCorePlayer on it? Or do I need to install both? Is there anything else I need to install? Once the Raspberry PI is configured do I connect the touch via a short ethernet cable, plug my hard drive into the Raspberry PI USB port & then scan the music library? Is any of this sounding correct? It seems pretty simple if that is it. If not, is there a link somewhere that tells me the steps I need to do to get the Raspberry PI up and running as the server using the touch as the interface to my USB hard drive? Much thanks in advance! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ danfzx9r's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41814 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=99545 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
