If you have a decent network (preferably wired) you can use PCM and
decode the FLACS on the server - I do, and it works very well with LMS
7.8, EDO and my coax-connected M1CLiC.

There are those that claim that lowering the processing load on the
Touch by not having to decode FLACs, but consequently having to process
an increased network load, improves the performance. However, this is
not the place for such discussions. The only point I'm making here is
that this combination should work without giving distorted sound.

Guido - have you done a network diagnostic check using the Touch? Even
sending FLACs the amount of data to be sent increases with 24/192
tracks.

LMS 7.8 on VortexBox Midi, FLACs 16 or 24 bit. Touch on Ethernet (in
another room), digital out to a Musical Fidelity M1 CLiC. Old wireless
laptop running Linux Mint Debian controls server using Chromium.
Squeezelite on Ubuntu & Windows desktops plus the laptop. Meridian
Explorer USB DAC to listen directly to Vortexbox & other PCs as
required. Spare Touch in loft!
