I'm assuming these speakers are passive speakers. So they have to be connected to some sort of receiver or amp/preamp. I doubt the micro system draws much power. Depending on where you are, I'd be surprised if it changed your electric bill more than a couple of bucks a month. It probably uses much less in idle mode than your TV uses when OFF (because modern TVs are not ever really off). A newer system has "auto sensing" possibilities. My amp turns itself on when it detects audio. But I have to leave my preamp on 24/7. With the old SB3 units there was a plugin that allowed one to send a signal to an on/off circuit in amps/preamps (if such amp/preamp had this function...your micro probably doesn't). *Location 1:* VortexBox (2.2) > LMS 7.8 > Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio) *Location 2:* VBA 3TB (2.2) > LMS 7.7.2 > Touch > Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio) *Office:* Win7(64) > LMS 7.8 > SqueezePlay *Spares:* VBA 4TB, SB3, Touch (3), Radio (3), CONTROLLER *Controllers:* iPhone4S (iPeng), iPad2 (iPengHD & SqueezePad), CONTROLLER, or SqueezePlay 7.8 on Win7(64) laptop Ripping (FLAC) - dbpoweramp, Tagging - mp3tag, Spotify ------------------------------------------------------------------------ garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=100309 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
