Thanks a lot to all who answered. I clearly have a lot to learn! I did start with mp3tag at the suggestion of one of the earlier respondents but as an outright beginner I found the accompanying explanatory material difficult to follow and I'm not at all sure that I am using it properly.
Do any of you know of an 'Idiot's Guide' or equivalent where I can read up on tagging and all that is involved before trying my hand at a practical level? Again, many thanks for all the input. Forums like this where experts make their knowledge and expertise available to know-nothings like me are so valuable!
