If you live in an area with no wireless contention (no SSIDs you can see
but yours) --- the SBT Wifi performance is perfectly fine. However,
with moderate to high interference, the SBT wifi is particularly error
prone in comparison with the wifi on the SB3(Classic) or just about any
device I have seen/used).

My wifi noisy environment is a great testbed for wireless performance,
and the SBT gets an "F" in this regard. The only product I have seen
that deals with interference as badly as the SBT is the SBR --- which
appears to be just as bad.

WIth the sensitivity with contention/interference --- also comes
extremely finicky behavior with various access points used. Not
surprised you started having problems around the time you replaced your
AP. I have had poor luck with SBT/Cisco Aironet -- slightly better
luck with TP-Link and much better luck with professional grade Meraki.
I dont recommend any of these, but am must making a point that the
wireless performance of the Touch is the Achilles' heel of the product.
If you work around it.... it is the best thing since sliced bread
(with EDO too).

For a while I had SB3s and SBTs in my environment....the SBTs had
extremely poor behavior. I was able to resolve all these problems by
using Ethernet into an external 802.11n bridge --- running at 5Ghz (much
less contention in my area). With this change (powerline would be
fine too) --- you will find you LOVE your SBT and it is a fantastic
product!!!

Lately I started to use some older Joggler O2s, which happen to sport
much better 802.11n capable radios as SBT replacements --- in some ways
these are better (not needing a bridge) --- but they have no IR remote
:(

Keep your SBT, fix the network!!!!
