make sure that SoX is installed on your Synolgy NAS within the LMS
installation and that the Synology is powerfull enogh to run the process
! not the case with old models some new models can do it .
Old NAS boses tend to have little memory and slow CPU and are usually
not up to this task .

You can use Top or some other linux command to the Synology and watch
the cpu usage via SSH and what proceses are running LMS and SoX for
example .

This handles itself automatically in some way Players report back to the
server what sample rate they can support , if you synced several players
the least capable one decides which rate its going to be .

Problem can be that your EDO enabled player reports back to LMS that it
indeed can handle 24/192 which it can if you use spdiff, or your USB dac
reports to EDO that it to can do 192kHz .
That can take some file editing to work around .

To test the transcoding facility ? do you have another squeezebox ?
otherwise factory reset and remove EDO from the Touch ,now its a bog
standard squeezebox that only supports 24/96 play a 24/192 file , does
it work ?

But maybe your synology already tries to transcode and thats your
problem ?

Another thing make sure the really uses ethernet , just plugin in a
cable does not make it so . You must redo the network setup with cable
connected to your router .
A hint if the player reports a signal stregth number in the LMS web-UI
at the info page in settings , it wifi conected .
