I was equally skeptical, for my it was just "zeros" and "ones" going to the DAC, and the Dac should do the conversion... Anyway, I decided to just give it a try. Now it is absolutely obvious the difference (if doing A/B comparisons at least). May depend of course on how revealing the rest of the system is. I just got the Sennheiser´s HD800 (with the Dac V1) and these very-revealing headphones really discriminate any difference "upstream" (even though I can also clearly hear the difference via my Proac´s). PS - many people also say that it is not a good idea to have both outputs connected at the same time, as it will only increase noise.. (but did not test this though) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bfmcosta's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=63621 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=94512
