I know some time has passed on this thread - but maybe someone can help; I have a touch which seems half dead after the wall wart died - it now will not power up the screen but there is power getting through evidenced by a red light being visible. It is not "seen" on my multi-room set up. And trying to factory reset etc is impossible. I am hoping that it may therefore be usable as a headless player. So having read this thread I would like to know if anyone did use the touch "headless" and if so how did they set it up - if anyone has written a script to run via the sd card / usb port I would really appreciate a copy. Or - any other ideas how I can use it again - just as a player - don't actually need the screen at all. Thanks in advance.
