Dear all, I've been an enthusiastic SBT user for years. I really love its user-friendliness and reliability. I've got loads of music in Apple Lossless stored on my Synology DS212, which is connected to the Touch by ethernet. I am using the analog outputs of the Touch.
Earlier this year I bought a BOTW power supply, which really improved the sound, everything was sweeter now, more natural, with better staging, the music was now really 'flowing' out of the speakers. The humble SBT suddenly sounded like a really expensive CD-player, even with the built-in DAC (which is pretty good!). A worthwile upgrade. However: since a few weeks, it seems that the Touch just doesn't sound as good anymore. It may have started when I returned from holidays (I had disconnected the mains lead during those three weeks, I don't know if this can be related). The sound is suddenly very thin, lacks warmth and is mostly unpleasant to listen to. Deep bass is still there, so electronic music still sounds ok most of the time, but the upper bass register seems absent now. There's no pleasant warmth anymore, a piano sonata or a string quartet really sounds unpleasant now. It is so dry! I plugged a headphone directly into the SBT and it is still thin-sounding, so I don't suspect the rest of my system (NAD C350, Dali Ikon 6 Mk2). Besides, LP and FM still sound fine, and the cheap Pioneer DVD player also sounds better than the Touch now (it used to be considerably worse). Any idea what could have happened? I hope anyone can help me with this. Many thanks! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ SuperAvilyn's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=64874 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104414 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
