Transporter technology is approaching 10 years old. A touch can provide
bit perfect input into another good (more modern) DAC. (and could also
do 24/192 if I wanted that, which I don't....but it would be impossible
with a Transporter.) The transporter is in a cabinet, so there is no
"cool to look at" for me. I loved my 1963 VW Bug too. But when it came
time to replace it, I didn't go looking for another 1966 VW. I love my
Transporter, but don't kid yourself into thinking it will cause some
night and day difference in your listening experience (or any
difference at all if you're using a good external DAC and bypassing the
main benefit of the Transporter over other squeezeboxes....it's
internal DAC).
