It sounds hashy (or digititis) & theres more bass / treble, like more a
wall of sound, the added treble covers up the good stuff-- I think the
only thing that improved it was removing it's toslink: it's wired in
parallel with the coax, I suspect it's just distorting the spdif
(slightly of course) -- 

The OP did order the remedy... if it's not very obviously an
improvement, I'd definitely return it...

The raspi/digi+ is just better, it's pure simplicity and piCorePlayer by
default has all linux services turned off -- I'd move to that before
adding that "Remedy"

Also, on my desk/computer setup, can't tell the diff-- but on a big sys
filling a room with sound it's pretty obvious

& I just keep my system simple/consistent, and I'm with you guys to
avoid snake oil and absurd audio jewelry.
