so a week ago I was gifted a PS Audio sprout by my husband and he gave
me his SBT to use. I gleefully purchased some 192/24 albums from
HDTracks and had a listen. Awesome, love it. Bought some more, been
listening all week.

Last night hubby was googling something and came across that the SBT
does not actually support 192/24, but with the EDO app it could. I was
a bit bummed about this, I figured that the 192/24 albums I'd been
listening to were being down sampled to 96/24. So since I wanted all of
my bits, dang it, we installed EDO.

It has come to my attention though, that my SBT should have never played
those files to begin with, that I should have gotten a pop-up on screen
that says 'unsupported sample rate' and no music would have played.

Now, I'm not saying that the files were actually PLAYED at the 192/24
resolution... Just that they did, in fact, actually play and I have no
idea what resolution they played at. But I've triple checked multiple
ways that yes, the files are in fact 192/24 FLAC. Like I said, I just
figured that the SBT was down sampling to 24/96 and playing them that
way with nary a clue for me. If John had never stumbled upon this while
googling, I would have been blissfully unawares that I wasn't getting my
full 192.

So was this a later production feature? is it a firmware thing? (no
idea what it's at), is my SBT magical and special or was this just
something that at some point logitech changed that is perfectly normal,
but just not all SBT do??
