Yes PI are good that way , someone probably wanted that and designed it
that way :) Touch hardware is more limited it was after all purpose
built to some spec .
Pi is more general purpose , which is cool .

Btw my solution to op problem is something else , don't fudge with
switches splitters et al . Just get decent equipment with enough inputs
and outputs and some to spare and be done with it .

Hifi is not only sound it's also functionality ergonomics and features
,that informs my purchasing decisions . I don't like stuff that limits
my possibilities to play stuff and connect things etc IMHO ofcourse .
