Hmm. I may have solved this but don't understand why in detail.
With SBT playing a station I shut down the PC. SBT stopped playing as expected. I used the SBT remote to go back to Favourites and then forward to select a station. Error message saying can't connect. I then tried to connect to mysqueezebox.com (even though it said it was running - obviously via LMS) and after about three seconds SBT switched off. Switched it back on, tried to connect to mysqueezebox (PC still off) and Bingo! Clearly, something twisted its knickers during the outages.
