Ripping CDs
Rip using dbPoweramp to FLAC - the main advantage is file size but also
has better tagging ability
Add ReplayGain from the outset - if you don't somewhere along the line
you'll wish you had
Cover Art - don't add to individual tracks unless you want to play in
things other than LMS. Instead save cover to folder.jpg in the same
folder. dbPoweramp can do this. Save covers at 500x500 minimum.
Use mp3tag to check and correct tagging errors. There will be some no
matter what.

The Pi
Download and burn piCorePlayer (standard) to a suitable SD card
Stick it in the Pi with a monitor attached (temporarily)
Connect the Pi3 to your router by ethernet. Forget any idea of doing
this wirelessly.
Boot the Pi - see its IP address on screen
Use a PC to connect to http://ipaddress
Give the Pi a static Ip
Enable Beta mode
Expand the SD card
Install LMS
Reboot
Reconnect to http://staticipaddress - all good ? Get rid of monitor.
LMS is installed but you now need to connect the SSD, give it a mount
point and check that it connects on reboot
Reboot until SSD is visible
Open another browser window to http://staticipaddress:9000
Configure LMS
