I was thinking of this https://www.dcsltd.co.uk/support/what-is-dop-dsd-over-pcm/ The only problem is the DAC needs to be capable of replaying DoP over SPDIF,which is likely to be the falldown point. You could always use Foobar with the DSD plugin to transcode the DSD files to PCM. It's what I did.
