thanks for the response man! I found this and pointed it out in another email chain actually! I haven't had a chance to test it and see how it compares to binutils but i definitely plan to very soon and will report back how it works. unfortunately i dont have a setup like rob yet for testing against a full lfs build (todo item) but i can test it against my aboriginal knock off.
