Nash requested a kind of "status" update of where MTSec and tp04 is at.
Here is what I think the status is. (Yay, grammar!)

MTSec needs the following things figured out before it is ready,
 - Combat needs to be reworked, the currently describe combat is just
   very kludgey
 - Initial spreadsheet balancing of the following
    * Hit points for ships
    * Damage from explosiveness
    * Formula for sending of production points
 - The following things need to be considered (IE To include them or
   not),
    * Scrapping ships
    * Transportation of resources

What is ready,
 - Ship types
 - Missile/Torpedoes types
 - Sizes (of explosives torpedo/missile, ships)
 - Components
 - Economy
 - Resources

A better and more in depth story (plus some promotional artwork and
stuff) would be good - but not needed to actually implement the game.

What needs to be done for tp04,
 - Write a draft specification
 - Implement the XML definition
 - Finish the XLST to make the documentation from the XML definition
What needs to be done before the draft specification can be finished,
 - Relook at Orders
 - Finish object parametrisation (mostly working)
 - Finish research stuff
 - Transactions?

What has been figured out (but still needs to be documented properly),
 - Meta-protocol stuff (IE finding servers locally and via the
   metaserver)
 - Better difference support
 - Individual FrameType versioning
 - Protocol "filter" negotiation
 - Extra Async Frames
 - EOT Turn support
