Hi all

As some of you may have already read on my blog[1], I was one of the
lucky ones, who were selected to get a free Qtopia Greenphone
development kit. When I applied I proposed to create a Qtopia based
client for playing 4X space strategy games (all based on Thousand Parsec
of course) and I never expected that people from Trolltech would select
such an unusual application for a mobile phone. Well I guess I was wrong
and so in the next few days I should be getting the kit and I will be
able to start working on the client.

As I've read before programming for Qtopia based mobile devices
shouldn't be that different from programming with Qt for desktop
computers. Well I guess I'll see. If all goes well I should be able to
reuse the C++ TP protocol library (libtpproto-cpp) and there should be a
lot of code that could be shared with Qt4/KDE4 client (Parsek) for
normal computers. As I said, we'll see. The deadline for submittion the
client to Trolltech for evaluation (and rewards for the best ones) is 31
October 2007. So this means I'll have about 2 months to make something
that works.

Until I get the kit I'll read more about Qtopia development, think about
how the user interface should look like and work (it is quite a
challenge to design for a small screen), what would be a nice catchy
name for the client. Anyways, this will be my very first time
programming for a mobile device, so any help is much appreciated.
