That sounds great.

I am the main developer of tpserver-cpp. I am about to fix and make 
improvements to the MySQL persistence module. So you could start looking at 
what the tpmysql module does, but I wouldn't start coding yet.

What technology would you use? odbc or just abstracting the common code out 
and using sql server-specific modules for the non-abstract bits?
