I suggest you have a look at the code for a start (if you can stand it). In particular, look at tpserver/persistence.h, that defines the generic persistence interface (could be db, flat file, xml, directories, etc) and then (if you don't pass out) the module/persistence/mysql/* Note that the module/persistence/mysql/ module doesn't build currently.
