Hi. There is no option to change the file output format to zip under
standalone mode. On the other hand if you use start the profile in
controlled mode and perform an attach from the eclipse workbench you might
be able to redirect the profiling data to a file by checking the "Sending
profiling data to a file" option under the "Destination" tab of the
"Profile->Attach to agent" dialog. I guess this might workaround the
system-imposed 2GB file size limit.

I'm not sure about what you mean when you say "reduce the footprint of
profile".

I am getting the file size after applying the filters and trying to reduce
xml trace file content using following configuration in ?jvmpi.pro? with
TPTP 4.1:

*
* This is the profile file for the JvmPI Agent
* Use this file to control the information content that is collected
* All lines starting with an "*" are comment lines
*
*
************************************************************************************************************************************

* Global Options
* These options must be set at Agent startup before any tracing has begun.
* Please refer to \logging\agents\profiling_agent\doc\JvmProfilingAgent.htm
for details.

OBJ_ALLOC_IS_ARRAY = true

Agent Controller running in "Controlled Mode" outputs xml trace files
zipped; am I right? Is there any way to obtain a zipped xml trace file in
?Standalone Mode?? This could be a good workaround to solve my problem.

Thank you very much!

Best Regards.

German,
   We do not have a workaround for the 2GB file size. Are you getting the
file size after applying the filters and trying to reduce the footprint of
profile?

Is there some workaround for bug 149812 (
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?format=multiple&id=149812)
regarding 2 GBs limit size for trace file in Linux?

Thank you in advance!
