TBH I haven't looked at the workflow yet, but is the implication of the env-upgrade that it will *change* the workflow of an existing installation? If so, I'm -1. I think the default for existing installations should be what users are used to. Or, at the *very* least, the env-upgrade should print a warning notifying users of the change and letting them know how to revert it.
