I'm afraid the reply to this will is "no". We are wrapping up 1.0, integrating the last completed patches, and now isn't the time to add new APIs, especially not if the implementation hasn't been tested for some time. We will very happy if you take this up in next-dev-1.1.x, though. -- Remy
