I'm using trac version 0.10.3.1. I recently noticed that in the version
pull-down (combo-box) in the new-ticket page (or while editing a ticket), the
version numbers were not sorted correctly. Further investigation shows that
they are sorted by the date/time stamp of the version (as entered on the admin
versions page), rather than by the version number itself.

This wasn't a problem in the past, but now I'm releasing betas of my 2.x
version, while at the same time releasing maintenance versions of my 1.x
version. Trac shows the version numbers intermixed in the version pull-down,
which confuses users, who then enter the wrong version number.

I thought I might work around this by removing the date/time from each version
number (since I can't find anywhere where these are displayed other than the
admin page). But the admin/version/modify version page won't let me do
that--when I enter a blank date/time field, it sets it to the last date/time I
had entered for that version.

Any suggestions for how I can get the version pull-down to sort by version
number?

Thanks,

Chris
