Several things:
1. Trying to add multiproject support is really not a good way to start
learning trac hacking. Its an incredibly complex problem, and even those
of us who have been doing this for a long time sometimes screw it up.
2. Trac no longer uses ClearSilver as the primary templating system. It
is still supported for backwards compatibility, but the default system
is now Genshi.
3. What features do you actually need? Between TracForge, TraM, and some
glue code written by bewst you can get quite a bit of multiproject
support already.
