I've used the PageToPdfPlugin and it's not very good in our wiki. It
crashes for us, and I believe this occurs if there are any Unicode
characters (this happens quite easily if any MS Office magic quotes or
magic dashes are copied in). It also can't generate any images on site.
This is either because the site is https-only, or because the pages
require authentication. I think it works on http and if anonymous users
have WIKI_VIEW. Things that have styles don't go well into the PDF,
either, in particular most of our pages use [[PageOutline]] macro, which
does not convert well to PDF. Ultimately, I find that using Adobe
Acrobat pro to "print to PDF" works better, actually. PDF Creator might
work as I hear it is free, but I've never used it.

I've copied Trac pages into MS Word pretty well -- the HTML copy/paste
seems to work decently for me. All I have to do is remove bookmarks and
any links I don't want.

PageToOdtPlugin sounds cool; I've never used it. I should try it out as
it might work better than copy/paste in Word.

I use the pdf plug-ins to get nicely printable version of the wiki
pages.
There is a similar odt one as well.

Subject: [Trac] Wiki format conversion?

I'm very new to the whole wiki thing. Are there any conversion
programs/utilities that can take the plain text version of a wiki page
and produce a formatted document, say in PDF, RTF, or OpenOffice.org
*.odt format?

Thanks!
Thom
