I am about to set up a machine to serve two projects (or two machines with one project each) with about 30-50 users per project. I will be using some version of trac with the following (from pkgsrc):
i386 (XEN2 domU) NetBSD 4 postfix 2.4.1 apache 2.2.6 python 2.4.4 subversion 1.4.4 sqlite 2.8.16 amanda 2.4.5 (for backups) It seems plausible choices for trac version are 0.10.4 0.10.5dev 0.11dev I looked at: http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/TracDownload and at many other places on the site, but did not find advice on choosing versions. My usage is fairly straightforward. I will be using bug tracking, the wiki, and the repository viewer, but the critical feature for the project will be svn itself. Syntax highlighting and customizing templates are not particularly important. I am inclined to stick with the released 0.10.4, and update to 0.10.X as they are released, and eventually to 0.11. Does this sound appropriate? A related question is sqlite. 2.8.16 is apparently an older stable version, and I have installed it because that's what's in pkgsrc. Is this reasonable, or should I get that updated to 3.4.2? Or, should I use postgresql -- I am used to running postgresql, but it seems like it might be overkill and trac-admin hotcopy doesn't support it.
