I'm biased, of course, but the stuff at the bottom regarding
update performance is distressing.  NUCULAR is
designed so that performance hits can
be taken off line and done very rarely (once a month,
for example, you might want to completely re-optimize
an archive).  For your (Trac) expected data sizes the update
performance may well be quite reasonable.
