I'll be moving to Leopard real soon now, but I had not too much trouble installing trac from MacPorts. And, I documented my work:

I wrote a small program that took the output of multiple instances portdeps so that I could more efficiently uninstall things in the proper order to get a clean upgrade (it still glitches, but much less).
