I found a feasible solution: As suggested, i'm now getting these informations through the rss feed of the timeline, providing just that (see the options in the right panel). The rss feed is read by the tool rss2email <http://rss2email.infogami.com/ >. Its running on my ubuntu machine in a cronjob every 10 minutes, sending a mail when something has changed (there are some options to customize that).
