This seems so obvious a shortcoming that I think I must be missing something. But I have looked. And, obviously, I have continued to miss it....
I can create a "Severity", a "Priority", a "Resolution", but I cannot create a "Status". What? This does not make sense. I tried creating different resolutions, but they are all terminal states, which I do not want. It occurred to me that I could create an arbitrary number of "Severity" types and just tell everyone in my org that "Severity" really means "Status". But there are two problems with this. First is that I am going to then want to manage trnasitions between severities, which does not make sense. I really want to manage transitions between arbitrary states. The second is that saying a "Severity" means a "Status" is really lame. And if software is this lame, why use it? Right now, we are using it because I am having isues installing bugzilla on the particular host we need to use, but that problem could get fixed. If our use of trac stays lame. Hopefully I am missing some small bit of info and I can update the wiki to make this much more obvious to those starting out. We'll see. thanx - ray -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Trac Users" group. To post to this group, send email to [email protected].
