This one is very simple as well because:

  - The picture shows everything expanded at the same time,
but that necer happens . It's just to illustrate all the features
     at once ;o)
  - The Dock, well ... without it, it wouldn't be a Mac ;o)
  - It renders a subset of metanav items (namely login, logout,
preferences, help & about). All others are displayed in a
drop-down menu. This makes possible to control the layout
of the metanav , which sometimes leads to tricky layout
    issues
  - Context navigation is in the toolbar because that's the way
    it works in MacOS ;o)
  - Mainnav is a drop-down menu because that's the way
    it works in MacOS ;o)
  - I added the toolbar below because probably some would
miss the menus. However, if you don't wanna see it just
click on the rightmost item and it will remain hidden
(unless you clear the cookies ;o)
  - The number of items shown in the toolbar is configurable .

IOW , have you seen something simpler than this [2]_ ?

For instance, I had 12 mainnav items and tested the theme
using a resolution of 800 x 600 with 5 items in the toolbar , and
it was perfect using both regular login and openid login. Under
the same circumstances if using the default theme then
items in mainnav overlap and the page is rendered a bit ugly .

well sorry , don't have access to an iPad so it's impossible for me to
notice that and fix it (patch welcome if anybody decides to take a
look and fix it ;o) .
