Hello: Thank you for the responses so far. >From my viewpoint, the "Search" function on the main project page is a >work-around, and I have a hard time calling it an "acceptable" one at that. The results it returns are not a nice looking list like is presented by the Custom Query feature, which additionally displays columns that I find useful. Additionally, version 0.12 introduces a "Created" field in the Custom Query, by which one can narrow down the search scope, something obviously not available from the main page "Search" function.

Enter the keywords and click search it will list the results in everything. You can narrow it down some by deselecting the checkboxes for changesets, Milestones, and wiki and search just on tickets. Works pretty well most of the time, although it doesn't target the "comments" field specifically or a specific ticket directly.
