While trying to install a postgres trac instance, I ran into an issue
where the database for my new instance (trac.db) wasn't being seen by the
TracTicketMover plugin. This is logical, because I set up a postgres
database, not a sqlite3 database.

I turned off the ticket mover plugin and now opening Trac tickets from the
sqlite3 databases is really fast.

Has anyone else ran into this?

Thanks,
Joe

It's certainly possible... especially if you can be a bit more precise
about the performance issues you're seeing and what you expect.

A good starting point can be found in the wiki,
http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/TracPerformance.

Please read it, check the various points mentioned there, try out the
suggestions, and don't hesitate to come back here once you have more
precise information about what worked or not.
