Hi Reinhard, My real custom fields are long and can have up to 3 underscores. I have a few of these fields too.
Since the system was deployed in production for some time, renaming the internal field names will affect older tickets saved in trac.db. I prefer not to rename. If the DynamicFieldsPlugin has parse issue with underscore, I will see if I know how to tweak its source. I found the javascript option for dynamic dropdown http://javascript.about.com/library/bldydrop1.htm but ticket.html in Trac source has to be changed involving with Genshi stuff that I'm not good at. In a test, it worked for custfield2 and not for cust_field2 (my field name in the test was different but this should not matter). So I suppose that the plugin has a parsing error. I myself would prefer to solve such problems with Genshi but then you see the automatic change only in the preview or after submitting. Probably, this is not necessary here - the internal field names are not visible for the user, just try to rename them ...
