We're starting from scratch soon, i.e., we have no existing usernames or users for that matter. My company has a corporation wide authentication system that I would like to use with Trac. One option in that system is to use employee email addresses so it would be convenient to use existing email addresses (effectively corporate usernames) instead of using Trac specific usernames. From your response it sounds like I can at least take a shot at this approach and see where it gets me. If it doesn't get me where I want to be I can always fallback to the Trac usernames since my preferred direction is not a hard requirement.
