I think that I have to give up on this for now and wait until the 
next release of trac in which, hopefully, this plugin will be 
standardized.  I rebuilt the egg from the svn trunck, installed it 
in "/usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages" and this is what happens:

# service httpd restart
