Newbie to Trac here. :)

I see on the Trac site that MySQL support is experimental, yet done. Seems to be available as a patch. Also appears to be going to be released at some point in the future with 0.10.

My team is still in the beginning stages of a large PHP5 web app build. We do not know Python, but it seems that all that will be necessary is to install it on our RedHat server, as well as Clearsilver and any other needed packages. This I imagine will not be difficult.

As far as DB support, we know and use MySQL. Presently 4.1 but we plan to upgrade to 5.1 as soon as it is released (a matter of months it seems, according to MySQL support).

We would like to use Trac, as its feature set seems quite rich and I am aware that it has an active and supportive following. Our chosen MVC platform, CakePHP, in fact uses it. :)

What I would like to ask is, is a MySQL-compatible version available? If so, how precisely do I get it? As in, is there one download or do I take the latest stable release plus a patch?

And beyond that, is there anything else we need to know (or advice to be shared) regarding Python/Clearsilver installing or our Apache configuration (we are presently upgrading and considering version 2.3) for Trac?

Thank you,
Hershel Robinson
