Ohhh, I'll bet they plan to... The classical marketing thing to do would be to release the new shiny features in the most expensive units, then as time goes on, drop the price in the expensive units.
I bought my eTrex for $99 a long time ago. Now I have a Nuvi for $99. I think this is their test to see how big a market there is for "aprs-equipped" smart GPS display devices.
