To answer that, look at the GISteq/Infinity speaker mic.  They 
presumably sunk a lot more money into development of that thing than I 
can muster, and the result looks like a 15-year old Garmin, only less 
reliable.

Basically I'm stuck waiting for Garmin to add the hooks I need to add my 
stuff to theirs.  Would be nice if they had a more open software philosophy.
